Owner & Instructor
Rachel
Rachel Doucette is the founder and instructor at The Yoga Space in Chadds Ford. Her love of yoga, movement, community, and wellness inspired her to create a space where people can move, breathe, and step away from distractions—a place to connect with themselves and with others.
Rachel’s yoga journey began in college, where she occasionally dropped into local classes. In her twenties, she returned to the practice to balance her active lifestyle. After just a few classes, she realized yoga offered something much deeper and has been devoted to it ever since. She was drawn to yoga because it is one of the most well-rounded forms of movement: every class incorporates bending, twisting, stretching, strengthening, balancing, and breathing—ending, of course, with everyone’s favorite, shavasana.
Rachel believes yoga is empowering both on and off the mat. To her, the mat is a place to move, explore, play, and simply be. With more than 12 years of teaching experience, she brings both passion and versatility to her classes. Certified through One Yoga in 2012, Rachel first taught from a small home studio, offering personalized, community-focused classes from 2012 to 2015.
When she’s not in the studio, Rachel enjoys time with family and friends, traveling, watching her boys play soccer, and staying active outdoors year-round.

Instructor
Monica
Monica took her first yoga class in 2018 for “stress relief”. She quickly realized that yoga brought so much more than that into her life. Monica has always loved to move her body, but adding yoga and mindfulness were a huge benefit and gave her a greater sense of overall peace, especially when life off of the mat was challenging.
Over the next few years she explored different types of classes and took a meditation workshop, and in 2023 enrolled in 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training with Studio Sabija held at Inward Bound Studio in West Chester, PA. During YTT Monica realized her passion was to share her love of yoga with others. She loves that yoga is for everyone, no matter your experience or fitness level.
Upon stepping into The Yoga Space Monica felt instantly at home. She is very excited to share her practice with you here in this space! Monica is a Chester County native, a former psychiatric nurse, and a mom to 2 amazing daughters. When not on her mat Monica enjoys spending time with family, going for walks, and is an avid mystery reader! She looks forward to taking more yoga workshops and continuing her yoga training and education.

Instructor
Katia
What started as exercise, stress relief, and a way to promote healing became something deeper for Katia. In the Fall of 2023, she began "The Path to Joy" and her 200-hour yoga teacher training with One Yoga, earning certification in February 2025.
During training, Katia was unexpectedly drawn to the spiritual aspects of yoga and how beautifully they connected with her background in astronomy education. She currently offers cosmic celebrations at TYS that align movement, personal reflection, and community with celestial events. She continues to learn and grow— attending (at least) monthly yoga events to stay inspired and keep expanding.
Katia is also a lover of music, believing in its power and the impact it can have on oneself. Sutra 18 from the Vijnana Bhairava Tantra suggests that “In a song, in the space of a few minutes, we can let go, lose ourselves and then return, refreshed, with a deeper sense of self.” She enjoys creating yoga playlists infused with both heartfelt lyrics and uplifting rhythms that connect to the flow—enhancing one’s experience on the mat in hopes you leave with a deeper sense of self.
One of her favorite things about yoga is the diversity and freedom of one’s own practice. She strives to create classes that are inclusive and supportive—honoring students where they are on their journey, encouraging the use of props, modifications, and most importantly— listening to your body. Katia’s goal is to help strengthen your body, while nurturing the mind-spirit connection that ultimately is, yoga.

Instructor
Kelly
Kelly (she/her) fell in love with yoga in 2014 after her first hot power yoga class and knew yoga would be a part of her life forever. Leaving her mat in a blissful, sweaty state is truly one of her favorite feelings so she decided to complete her 200-hour training at a studio in Fishtown in 2022 and dove deeper into her love for yoga and fitness, which she is so grateful to share with The Yoga Space community.
As an instructor, Kelly aims to create a space that is empowering, nourishing, and authentic with supportive movement that your muscles and mind will feel to a carefully crafted playlist (with her elder emo touch). She aims for each student to leave their mat feeling better than when they walked in—with that same blissful sweat she loves to feel.
Off the mat, you’ll find her running the trail, hiking and exploring nature with her husband, daughter Penelope, and their dog or cozy on the couch with at least one pet and a good book (likely a psychological thriller).
